FAQ-AFF-Training

From which heigt are we jumping ?

We jump basically out of 4,000-m. Our students will have approx. 55 sec freefall time.

Isn't it cold at this altitude?
In 4.000 m it is surely colder as on the ground. The temperatures are between 10-15 ° in summer and about 0 to -5 ° in winter. You receive the adequate clothes from us.

How long is the preparation for my first jump?
We have a one-day preparation for the jump. On the first day you will learn to fly with your canopy, the equipment, the position is in free fall and some exercises in it.
On the second day we practice how to leave the airplane, emergency procedures, the landing and then to your first jump.

How long does the education last?
They AFF training leads you in 7 level jumps to your solo jump. After those jumps you can continue jumping still under supervision of our instructors but you are on your own in free fall and under canopy. The AFF course you can do in 2-3 weekends or during of one of our training camps.

How many jumps have my instructors?
500 jumps are the limit to be AFF-instructor. Each of our instructors has logged more than 2.500 jumps!

Does a weight limit be also valid for an AFF jump?
Here the allowed loading of the canopy is not to be crossed. Moreover, steering the canopy is harder the more weight is put under the canopy.
That's why there is the rule: up  to 110 kg of weight and fairly fit? No problem! Above we can decide only in particular cases.
Generally we aspect our students are "standard" sportive at least.

How long we need to get to altitude?
With our aircraft we need 18-20 min. for climbing to altitude of 4.000 m

Can I breathe in the free fall?
This is no problem. Simply pay attention to breathe out.

Anything special, I have to think about on the first day?
Get in contact with us when the weather conditions are bad. Basically it is decided with the instructor on site whether students jumps can take place.

Often we can use days with bad weather for theroretical preparation, packing classes and other things, you will need sooner or later.

Is skydiving dangerous?
Yes! And no this is not a joke. In the last years the equipment has become more and more safely. Also we use the most modern, electronic opening machines.
However, the biggest safety factor is a healthy setting of the possible dangers towards and constant practicing. Also that's why continuing training and workshops take place on our drop zone regularly with regard to the personal safety in the sport.
Take part in these voluntary events in your own interest!

Which conditions must I bring for the education?
At least 14 years. On an average sportiv and intelligent ;-)

What about after the AFF training?
After your jumps with your Instructoryou can jump within our school on a solo base (alone). This means you get a jump briefing (f.e. flips, turns and rotations) and try to do out this then in free fall independently.
Theese jumps are made under the instructors supervision. They'll check everything is on place, before you get into the aircraft.

After 23 jumps you can take your theoretical and practical exam to the acquisition of the German or US aerial sport parachute association This entitles you to jump worldwide independently also with your own device.
